But also, remember Nanking
Welcome to the coordinating web pages of the South Asian Peace and Non-violence Association, SAPNA for short which is a Hindi-Urdu word for "Dream". We are a nascent Boston-based organization, dedicated towards making the dream of a peaceful, democratic, and united South Asia a reality. Convened under the shadow of the Bomb, we hope to play a moderating and conciliatory role, advocating social, economic, food, and environmental security in South Asia, while endeavoring to create a just world order, without the "might makes right" ideology that has proved to be the true escalator of human conflict and the arms race.

We are in the initial planning stages of establishing a lasting pan-South Asian movement, drawing on the best traditions of our various cultures, to work towards meaningful social change and transnational unity. Our sense of global consciousness complements a profound patriotism, defined by our love for the peoples, traditions, geography, and ecology of South Asia.
